List of illustrations and a word to the reader by author. The text is illustrated with 6 black and white illustrations by Norman Howard. Dark green coloured cloth covered boards with black coloured titles to the front panel and back strip. Colour illustrated dustwrapper of shellfish, with sharks swimming right to left. White coloured titles to the front panel and ochre coloured titles to the back strip. A Biggles adventure set in the SouthSeas where he and his friends go diving for pearls. There is no publication date, however Australian Children's Books (Marcie Muir) gives the publication date as 1946. (8544 ACB). Little rubbing and bumping of the book corners softening and rubbing of the back strip edges. Browning and faint foxing to the text block edges with Browning and the occasional foxing spots to the pages stop offset tanning and faint foxing to the end pages; there is a gift inscription, dated Christmas 1946, to the free front end page. Chipping of the dustwrapper corners with creasing and some small chips to the dustwrapper edges. Rubbing of the panels and all creases of the dustwrapper. There is a large tear that arcs into the top half of the rear panel which a previous owner has supported with tape, tape still in situ. Sunning of the back strip with browning and foxing of the verso. Australian retail price is on the dustjacket fold over flap, 6/6d. Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. [15], 16 - 222, [2] pages,.
