Black and white photographs of author to the rear flap. "In Zhager, a small town on the Lithuanian-Latvian border, well over 3000 Jewish men, women and children were massacred on 2 October 1941, by members of the Lithuanian Militia. They lie in a mass grave in Naryshkin Park, the heart of the shtetl, where lovers once walked." -- from the front fold over panel. The authors' father and family were from that shtetl, and she set out to find out what happened to her father and his family in the Holocaust. Rubbing of the book edges and of the panels. Light age toning of the text block edges and pages a previous owner has place their name and telephone number to the top edge of the title page. Some creasing of the top right-hand corner of the text from the title page through to page VIII. Some yellowing of the page edges. Fading to the back strip. Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
