Title: County Fair
Description: Philadelphia: MacRae Smith Company, 1953. Hardcover. I don't normally list ex-library books, but this one is interesting and has a tiny stamp on the title page, with the next page listing the library name in punch out dots, which is hard to see. The sweet smell of new-mown hay and the simple beauty of Indiana's farm land fills pretty young Jane Ellison with a wish to exchange her town life for the fun and excitement of the country. She finds an outlet for her enthusiasm when she joins Cloverleaf 4-H Club. With her new friends Jane takes part in wonderful projects like flower-growing, baking and cattle breeding. It all takes time, and she has to work on a challenge to qualify as a new 4-H member while her mother wants her to make music a career. There is a young man who is interested in her, and they begin plans for the next year of rewarding 4-H activities. Jane also starts the first club orchestra with the approval of everyone, including her mother and father. ; A 4-H Romance; Ex-Library; Vol. 2; 8vo 8" - 9" tall; 222 pages. Very Good .
