Good. - Small octavo, 6-1/2 inches high by 4-1/4 inches wide. Hardcover, bound in full brown calf titled in gilt, with rules & decorations in blind on the front cover and with decorations in blind between raised bands on the spine. The binding is further enhanced with marbled endpapers. All edges are dyed red. The covers are slightly rubbed & scuffed with a minor chip to the head of the spine. Title leaf, pages [1]-81, 84-85 and a 7-page catalog of books printed for William Crook. Pages (82-83) are skipped in the numbering without any loss of text. The title page is laid down on heavier stock resulting in the loss of the license on the verso. It would have read "LICENSED / Septemb. 3d Rog. L'estrange /1677". The title page is soiled with chips and tears repaired by reinforcing with heavier stock from the verso. There is a tine hole to page one with minor loss. The first page of the catalogue is closely cropped with minor loss to a very few letters and the corners of the last page of the catalog have been repaired with minor loss. Page 3 has been additionally numbered in ink at the top and there are annotations and markings penned at the top of the last blank page. A good attractive book. From the library of Henry Kirke with his armorial bookplate, "Henry Kirke, The eaves". Henry Kirke of Martinside purchased "The Eaves" estate in 1654. He left it to his son, also named Henry. Good .
