Title: Autograph Sentiment Signed by the Ukrainian Soprano and Composer Erminia Rudersdorff.
Description: London, July 16th, 1868. 1868. - The Ukrainian-born opera soprano and composer Erminia Rudersdorff's autograph sentiments penned on 1-5/8 inch high by 3-3/4 inch wide creamy white paper "yours truly / Erminia Rudersdorff / London July 16th, 68". The corners are clipped and the autograph is mounted with glue from the verso on thicker stock clipped from an album. Very good. The Ukrainian Opera soprano and composer Hermine "Erminia" Rudersdorff Mansfield (1822-1882) was the daughter of the noted violinist Joseph Rudersdorff. She studied under Bordogni in Paris and De Jicheront in Milan. She lived in London for many years, first appearing in an Operatic role at Drury Lane in 1854. Invited to perform in Boston at the World's Peace Jubilee in 1872, she sang several operatic arias as well as her own composition "Homage to Columbia". Erminia was the mother of the British actor Richard Mansfield. Very good .
