Description: Rawling, New York, October 14, 1948. 1948. - Over 30 words typed on his personal embossed 10-1/2 inch high by 7-1/4 inch wide stationery. A brief note to Mr. Saltford thanking him for his note and expressing that his "only regret was that I had to miss most of the game. I hope we can do it again one of these days." Signed "Lowell Thomas". There is a faint indentation from a paper clip along the top edge and a faint stamp at top right indicating the note was received on October 16th. Near fine. Lowell Jackson Thomas [1892-1981] was an American writer, actor, broadcaster and traveler. He wrote many travel books and is remembered for publicizing T. E. Lawrence [Lawrence of Arabia]. He was also involved in promoting the Cinerama widescreen system. .
