Softcover, bound in stapled violet wraps, titled and decorated in black on the front cover. The edges and corners of the covers are slightly faded and lightly creased. The top corner of the front cover is slightly dampstained. 16 & [1] pages. The corners and edges of the pages are slightly creased and the top corner of the first page is slightly dampstained. There is an indentation to the pages. Good. First edition of this issue of Henry Cowell's important periodical. Through "New Music" Cowell, an important composer himself, published scores by modern composers who would otherwise have little opportunity to see their works distributed through the mainstream. "This issue contains Six Preludes for Piano by Adolph Weiss", with Weiss's own "Analysis of Piano Preludes" addressing his compositions preceding the score. The American composer Adolph Weiss (1891-1971) was a student of Arnold Schoenberg in Berlin. Weiss was also a professional bassoonist performing with several major orchestras including the New York Philharmonic. A modernist, Weiss taught harmony, counterpoint, and composition in New York City. Good .
