Together with: 2-3/4 inch high by 5-5/8 inch wide 4-sided cream-colored place card printed in red & green on a decorative tan ground. Fine. "Two Views of the Mountain" was a gift book printed by the Thistle Press in a limited edition of 85 copies for the friends of Bruce Rogers on the occasion of Rogers' 85th birthday. The birthday was marked by a luncheon on May 14, 1955 and the book is accompanied by Robert L. Leslie's place card for this event. Leslie [1885-1987] was an American doctor, graphic designer and typologist. He was one of the founders of The Composing Room and in the 1950s was instrumental in the creation of the High School of Industrial Arts [later renamed the High School of Art and Design] in New York City.
