Together with 4 stamped, postmarked postcards sent from Manchester, MD to Reg Bretnor, dated 1978 to 1981 and variously signed "Jack Chalker" and "Jack C". Near fine.
A letter and four postcards to science fiction author Reginald Bretnor relating to the publishing of the original edition of "The Compleat Feghoot" and its reprinting. The letter discusses contracts and payments and the possibility of publishing both a hardback and a paperback edition. "Feghoot now also has his own International Standard Book Number..which will thrill librarians and bibliographers the world over. The September catalog will announce the book, although whether we'll beat Christmas with it is questionable. I'll make the hard/paper decision after the next catalog shows the real interest.."
The postcards, which are dated 1978, 1980 and 1981, discuss the introduction and illustrations for the 1980 updated,expanded edition of "The Compleat Feghoot" and a possible further edtion [which never materialized].
Jack Chalker [1944-2005] was an American science fiction author. He taught history in the Baltimore City Schools for twelve years, retiring in 1978 to write full-time. He started the Mirage Press to release nonfiction and bibliographic works concerning science fiction and fantasy. As an author, he is best known for his Well World series of novels.
Reginald Bretnor [1911-1992] was a Russian American science fiction writer of numerous short stories, as well as works on military theory and public affairs. Very good .
