Briggs writes to Ken Stuart, art director of the Saturday Evening Post, to ask him to give copies of manuscripts he is sending to Briggs to a Tom Holloway. "Pushing off tomorrow for the flight to Paris. It was good to see you at the A.D. pre-view, and I look forward to doing that story for the new, new Post.."
American cartoonist and illustrator Austin Briggs, after working for a time at a New York City advertising agency, became an assistant to the cartoonist Alex Raymond on Flash Gordon and succeeded him on Secret Agent Corrigan. From 1940 to around 1944 he drew a Flash Gordon Daily strip, then went on to create illustrations for books and for magazines, including the Saturday Evening Post and Readers Digest. He was elected to the Society of Illustrators' Hall of Fame in 1969. Very good .
