Description: Bridgewater, CT: February 2, 1962. 1962. Bridgewater, CT: February 2, 1962. 1962. Very good. - 56 words typed on a sheet of his personal letterhead [10-1/2 inches high by 6-1/2 inches wide] with his address printed at the top. Signed "John Clymer". Clymer's printed name is marked in red pencil in the address & there is a pencil notation with a red check mark in the top left corner of the letterhead. Folded twice for mailing. Very good.

Clymer replies to a secretary at the Saturday Evening Post who has asked for the location of Clymer's recent cover: "The location is Fish Lake, which is just above Salmon Le Sac on the Cle Elum River in the Cascade Mountains of Central Washington.." The May 5, 1962 Post cover by Clymer was titled "Spring Warms the Mountains".

Born in Ellensburg, Washington, John Ford Clymer was an American painter and illustrator known for his depictions of scenes from nature and the American West. He is best remembered as an illustrator for American magazines, including Argosy, Field and Stream and the Saturday Evening Post, for which he created eighty covers. Very good .
