Luther Burbank [1849-1926] was influenced by Darwin and became a market gardener in Santa Rosa, Calif. where he conducted plant breeding experiments for fifty years and produced many better varieties of cultivated plants.

This pamphlet is the sixth of a proposed series of fifteen monographs aiming "to create a general interest in agriculture, horticulture, and floriculture with instructions to make it possible for everybody to grow his or her own fruits, flowers, and vegetables." . Good .
