Schnitzler's works were often controversial, both for their frank descriptions of sexuality and for their strong stand against anti-Semitism. After the opening of his play "Reigen", he was branded a pornographer. However, the State Court at Berlin determined that the work came across as a criticism of modern amorality and was therefore fit to be seen by the public. The Max Ophuls film "La Ronde", based on the play, met with considerable success in the English-speaking world.

Scarce. Good .
