Himself a long-time Church of England parson near Salisbury, Wiltshire, Herbert died of consumption at the age of 39. With an introduction by Edward Thomas. Number 309 in Everyman's Library catalog in their "Poetry and the Drama" series, edited by Ernest Rhys. --- In 'flatback' binding style 1, full olive cloth-covered boards with elaborate Reginald Knowles-designed gilt spine titling & decorations, blindstamped J. M. Dent vignette to front cover, dark topstain and fancy Knowles woodcut art at title page, endpapers & frontis. Volume lacks the dust jacket. --- With a tear & small indentation to back cover top edge and other slight tears to cloth. Interior is clean, unmarked and book is tightly-bound.; 16mo - 6 to 7 in. tall; xvii, (2), 305 pages. Very Good with no dust jacket .
