Entry 54 in Everyman's Library Biography series, edited by Ernest Rhys. --- In 'flatback' binding style 1, full grey cloth-covered boards with elaborate Reginald Knowles-designed gilt spine titling & decorations, blindstamped J. M. Dent vignette to front cover, brown topstain and fancy Knowles woodcut art at title page, endpapers & frontis. Volume lacks the dust jacket. --- A well-preserved copy: clean, tightly-bound and mostly unmarked, though with prior owner's signature to front free endpaper and mild yellowing to spine.; 16mo (6 to 7 in. tall); (6), 719 pages. Very Good+ with no dust jacket .
