The set consists of the best-known of Thackeray's works, including "Barry Lyndon," "Henry Esmond," "The Virginians," and "The Newcomes." It also includes volumes 2 & 3 of "Vanity Fair" (vol. 1 is missing); as well as most of Thackeray's lesser prose works. Each volume illustrated by Charles E. Brock, and edited by Walter Jerrold. Each with a tissue-guarded plate, usually bearing an image of the author. --- In publisher's olive cloth 'flatback' binding, with green decorations and author name in gilt to covers, spine titling and decorations in gilt, illustrated endpapers, deckled fore- and bottom edges and TEG (top edges gilt). Publication dates range from 1901 to 1903. Volumes lack dust jackets. --- These books are in Fair to Very Good+ condition, with clean, unmarked interiors. 5 volumes with dark soiling to spines, some of the others with light spine soiling and a minor spine sunning.
