Top edge gilt, with gilt-stamped spine decorations and titling. Books carry various dates from the 1870s through the 1910s, exact publication date is not stated. --- A rather well-preserved set, but with some chafing to leather at spine ends and to edges of covers. One volume, which offers "The House of the Seven Gables" and "The Snow-Image" has a missing patch of leather at head of spine. All volumes with prior owner's bookplate affixed to front paste-downs. Overall, bindings are tight and the books are stable.
