However, she was forced to return to her parents home in Cleveland when conflicts with Indians made life out west too dangerous for her. These letters document the exciting times the couple shared. Severely wounded at the Battle of Washita River in 1868, Albert retired as a colonel in 1870. Includes a handful of black & white photos. --- In brown cloth-covered boards with black spine titling.
