Introduction by Francis Hueffer (his article from the famous 11th edition of the Encyclopaedia Britannica). Hinges split on endpapers only, but hinges strong; former owner's bookplates on ffeps, otherwise unmarked, edges, heads and heels slightly worn, else fine; tight, square, with clean and bright text blocks.
