Title: Scrap Book
Description: 1825. Hard Cover. The book is bound in half tan leather with marbled boards and edges, spine in five compartments separated by raised bands, gilt lettering on black panel in one compartment, the number "2" gilt in one compartment, and gilt tooling in the remainder. Printed by Oliver & Boyd. The Introduction is indicated to have been written at Dumfries, on the 1st of January, 1825. The contents are divided into three sections: Descriptive Pieces in Prose; Narrative Pieces; and Didactic Pieces. These appear to have been collected from various sources, rather than having been written for this collection. The volume is missing title and copyright page, the endpapers present and first page begins with introduction dated 1825. Ink blot on p. iii, light foxing to paste-downs and endpapers, printed armorial bookplate on fep, former owner's signature on ffep, all edges rubbed. Pages are unmarked, binding is square and the book is clean. GOOD.. 12mo 7" - 7½" tall. xvi, 476 pp. Fair with no dust jacket .
