Title: The Wilderness Trail Or the Ventures and Adventures of the Pennsylvania Traders on the Allegheny Path with Some New Annals of the Old West, and the Records of Some Strong Men and Some Bad Ones
Description: New York, NY: G. P. Punam's Sons, 1911. First Thus. Hardcover. Two volumes. Volume 1 has 383 pages, volume 2 has 457 pages. Frontpiece in each volume. Cloth rebound with quarter leather green spine and black name inset with gold lettering. Poor job. Rubs to leather. Pages have been trimmed a little, but no damage to text. Pages somewhat wrinkled as if exposed to moisture at some time and some pages at spine area seem to be glued at hing area but all are readable. Contents clean and tight.. From an edition limited to 1000 copies. Well illustrated history of the Indians of the Old West: the Iroquois, Shawnees, Mingoes, Wendats, Petticoats, etc. Also much on early western traders (George Croghan, et al), and trading on the Allegheny Path, in the Ohio Vally, etc. Extensive black and white photos and maps (many fold outs). Maps alone valuable. These are not reprints but original editions. Would be nice if rebound in leather or reconditioned as the present binding is not done well. We provide free delivery tracking on US orders. Rare.; Vol. 1 & 2; Maps, & illustrations; 8vo 8" - 9" tall; Returned.. Fair with no dust jacket .
