A delightful and quite-accomplished piece of Northern California folk art (provenance - previous owner), it memorialized the members of a local poker club - all of them presumably serving with the Air Force at the Presidio of Monterey. Six anthropomorphic horses, three ladies and three gents, grinned widely - the men dressed in military uniforms and the women displaying stylized Air Force insignia on their dresses. The Presidio - US Army installation, which houses the Defence Language Institute Foreign Language Center - has been home to the 517th Training Group of the US Air Force (under various names), since WWII. Very good .
