Number 5 of the Third Series of Rare Americana printed by the Grabhorn Press and one of the Fifty Books of the Year, it was a collection of jokes and humorous sketches of California (first published in 1855) by John Phoenix or John Squibob, pseudonyms for practical joker and humorist Lieutenant George H. Derby (1823 - 1861). Near fine .
