Veniamin Valerianovich Zavadskii (1884 - 1944), writing under the pseudonym V. Korsak, was an author, later a representative of the first wave of Russian emigre writers, and member of Aleksei Remizov's "Great and Free Monkey Chamber" - a society, founded as a lampoon on the official committees and organizations, which cropped after the Revolution. After being imprisoned during WWI, he emigrated to Paris, where he was active with the Union of Russian Writers and Journalists. His current book, chronicling the cultural and social life in Estonia in the first decades of the 20th century, was designed by Mir Isskustva's Ivan Bilibin (1876 - 1942) - perhaps the most well-known Russian illustrator and stage designer of his time. Very good .
