A beautiful, early edition of one of British author and educator Arabella Buckley's (1840 - 1929) contributions to popularising scientific work for children, it was said to "communicate science through enchantment and metaphorical language attractive to younger readers." The various sections were labeled as lectures, rather than chapters, and included material on water and ice, insects, sunlight, flowers, etc. Very good .
