Richard Francis Burton (1821 - 1890) was a British author, explorer, captain in the army of the East India Company and polyglot - allegedly fluent in twenty-nine languages. Arguably his most famous work - the current translation of the commonly called Arabian Nights - was considered pornography when published and contained the most explicit description of homosexuality in any language for a long period of time. Very good .
