Author: Various Title: Cook Book. St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Winside, Nebraska
Description: Winside, NE, By the authors, 1939. First Edition. First edition; 9 x 6; pp. [2], 3-41, [5]; olive, pictorial wraps, printed and ruled in black; age-toning and spotting to wraps; occasional smudges and spots to pages; several leaves with crease lines and minor pencil underlining; in good to very good condition. An interesting, regional cookbook, it featured not only recipes for various cakes, meats, soups, etc. but also the birthdays of the members of the church's congregation. According to local history, the town of Winside was settled in the 1880s, competing with the nearby Northside for the location of a depot for the Chicago, St. Paul, Minneapolis, and Omaha Railroad. Winside won, capturing the outcome in its name. Good .
