Lady Mary Augusta Poynter, nee Mason Dickinson (1868 - 1930) began painting and writing poetry at an early age, later contributing to various periodicals, including Harper's, The Century, The Youth's Companion, and others. She would eventually travel to Europe, first to London, then to Constantinople, where she would marry Sir Hugh Poynter, then to Asia, and finally to Australia, writing several memoirs and travelogues all along the way. The current poetry collection was her last work. Very good .
