Title: Zhenaty Pushkin (Married Pushkin)
Description: Berlin, Parabola, 1936. First Edition. First edition; 7 3/4 x 5 1/4; pp. [8], 9-123, [1]; rebound in gray buckram, with black morocco label and gilt title to spine; chipping to edges of label; spine cover with age-toning; overall in very good condition. Aleksandr Adolfovich Shik (1887 - 1968) was a lawyer, author, and major authority on Pushkin and his works. Emigrating after the Revolution, he lived and worked in Germany, where he wrote his current book in 1936, followed by "Odessa Pushkin" in 1938, thus recreating Pushkin's life in reverse order - from his fateful later years to his relatively peaceful youth. "Married Pushkin" was based in large part on notes and letters of Pushkin himself and of people in his inner circle. Very good .
