Description: S.-Peterburg (St. Petersburg), Tipografiia Imperatorskoi Akademii Nauk, 1907. Signed and inscribed by the author to title page. Nikolai Kiriakovich Piksanov (1878 - 1969) was a scholar, author, critic, educator, and member of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR. Most of his major works dealt with the history of Russian literature and the lives and writings of several major literary figures, including Griboedov, Pushkin, Turgenev, and Gorky. His current book, situating Pushkin in relation to the period's newspaper journalism, was inscribed to fellow Pushkinist, authority on romanticism, and author Nikolai Kirovich Kozmin (1873 - 1942). Very good .
