She escaped Russia after the Revolution, first living and studying in former Yugoslavia and then permanenly settling in Paris, where she was very active in the literary and philosophical circles of Russian emigres and very close to Kuprin, Bunin, Berdiaev, Aldanov, etc. "Empty Hands" was her first published work of fiction. Very good .
