A lovely advertising booklet, it was published by the pharmaceutical company of Scott and Bowne, established in 1873 by Samuel W. Bowne (1842–1910) and Alfred B. Scott (1946–1908). They would become best known for their Scott's Emulsion of cod-liver oil, advertised here and touted as the best remedy in existence for a variety of ailments. Written in verse, the book was intended to "foster good-will for the product among children" and told the story of how Vikings got big and powerful by eating fish oil like the one contained in Scott's Emulsion. Very good .
