Dubbed "especially Rozanovian" and called: "..perhaps the most salacious literary memoir in Russian.." modernist author Aleksei Remizov's (1877 - 1957) "Kukkha" weaved letters, memories, and imaginary conversations with the author's deceased friend - controversial author and philosopher Vasilii Rozanov (1856 - 1919) - lamenting on the hardships of life in exile. Allegedly, Kukkha was the name Remizov gave Rozanov, when the former elected him an honorary member of the imaginary "Great and Free Monkey Federation."
