Title: Manuscript Rebus Illustration
Description: S. l. By the author. Manuscript in ink and watercolor, n. d. (19th century); single leaf of thin stock, 5 1/2 x 4 1/4; minor age-toning and spotting to margins; in very good condition. A mystery rebus, as yet unsolved and simply titled: "Illustration," it was exquisitely drawn and depicted a pail, mounds of sand (?) and shovels, the letters R and S, a waterfall, etc. It could have been created by an amateur artist, an illustrator for an unpublished work, or simply by a lover of riddles. Very good .
