(ca 1942); concertina-fold, 10 panels altogether; 4 1/4 x 3 3/4 folded; bright-yellow stock, illustrated with drawings in red and black; small spot to first panel; minor wear to edges; in very good or better condition. Published as a fundraiser by the Russian War Relief, the brochure descriptions and prices for books, pins, scarfs, etc. the proceeds for which were to go towards medical supplies, food, and clothing. Katinka, used as a collective name for Russian women, represented the "thousands of courageous Katinkas (and Gregors), who were fighting to secure a final victory for the United Nations." The Russian War Relief, also known as the American Committee for Russian War Relief and the Russian War Relief Fund, was the the largest American agency for foreign war relief, founded in 1941 in New York, one month after Germany's invasion of Russia. Not in OCLC, not in the trade (as of December 2021). Very good .
