A beautiful publication, it featured numerous poems and stories for children by author, translator, bibliographer, and bibliophile Nikolai Pozniakov (1856 - 1910). He was known for creating a bookplate, reading: "This book is stolen from N. I. Pozniakov," in order to ensure that his books, borrowed by forgetful friends would be returned.
