First edition; 8 1/4 x 5 1/2; pp. 3-31; brown wraps, printed and ruled in black, with a small vignette; illustrated with a map and small, black and white drawings; title in Ukrainian and English; minor wear to edges; two small chips to tail of spine and top edge of back wrap; a faint, penciled-in gift inscription to pp. 3; in about very good- condition. Volodymyr Sichynskyi (1894 - 1962) was a Ukrainian-American graphic artist, architect, and educator. After co-establishing the Architectural Institute in Kiev, he taught in Lviv and Prague, before he was arrested and imprisoned by the Gestapo in 1943. Sichynskyi emigrated to the US in 1949, where he continued writing and working on his architectural designs until his death. His current book featured a concise history of Crimea, including some of the important Black Sea ports, churches, etc. Very good .
