Mykhailo Lomatskyi (1886 - 1968) was a Ukrainian author, ethnographer, educator, and folklorist. After spending time in prison during the Soviet occupation between 1939 and 1941, he escaped to Germany, where he lived in various DP camps - contributing to emigre journals and organizing the Ukrainian Youth Association. In love with the Hutsul region in the Carpathian Mountains of Galicia, most of his works, including the current one, reflected its people and their rich culture. Very good .
