Title: Are You Lucky? Win a Season Ticket for the Entire Engagement of the Reno Stock Company. The Strongest Repertoire Organization Entour Carrying an Unexcelled List of Royalty Plays and Feature Vaudeville Acts
Description: S.l. S.n. 1915. First Edition. Advertising broadside; 14 x 11; very thick, beige card stock, printed and illustrated in black; a bit of wear and creasing to corners and very mild spotting to margins; overall in very good condition. A beautiful advertising piece for the Reno Stock Company, founded by Denny (1875 - 1969) and Dottie (1878 - 1967) Reno. Circus acrobats by profession, they performed with various circuses and carnivals and travelled extensively throughout the US, Europe, and South America in the early 1900s. It was said that once they had to spend the entire winter in Alaska, after missing the last boat to the lower 48. in 1908, after the birth of their daughter, the Renos settled in St. Joseph, Missouri and devoted their careers to vaudeville. The child, also named Dottie, performed with her parents, as well, and would later go on to establish her own theater company. The current broadside featured a cartoon-ish illustration of "The Great Renos in one of their famous acts," as well as 20 numbered lines (empty, for the featured vaudeville acts to be entered) and an empty space for the location of the performance. Very good .
