Iwan Owechko (1920 - 2003) was a well-known Ukrainian emigre journalist, poet, educator, and professor of foreign languages at the University of Northern Colorado. He also published several books, including his best known "A Pocketbook Guide to Ukraine and Ukrainians," which he co-authored with Roman Kuchar of Kansas State University. The current compilation contained various poems of his, written and published between 1950 and 1964 in emigre journals in Argentina, Canada, and the US. Very good .
