Limited edition of 110 copies (this copy #4); 8 x 5; pp. [24]; plain, cream, textured wraps; brick-red dust jacket with a printed label pasted-on; illustrated by Victor Candell; book in fine condition. Jacket with a small chip to top edge and a very small puncture to spine; very good to near fine condition. Inscribed by Albert Parsons Sachs on the limitation page: "(This copy is number 4) and is presented with love and affection to the dearest Imp by Albert." Alfred Edgar Coppard (1878 - 1957) was a British author of short stories and poetry. His current humorous book told the story of two "spoilt dilettante bachelors." The illustrator, Victor Candell (1903 - 1977), was born in Budapest, Hungary and by the time he was 15, he would be a successful graphic designer and poster artist. He studied in Paris and New York, illustrated numerous books and magazines, and taught at the Columbia School of Painting, the Brooklyn Museum School of Art, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Art Institute of Chicago, and others. Albert Parsons Sachs was a well-known inventor, educator, author, and book collector. Ill.: 0. 2.
