Charlotte Mary Yonge (1823 – 1901) was a prolific British author, writing more than 150 novels during her career, and a favorite writer to Lewis Carroll, George Eliot, and Lord Tennyson among others. She was also known for donating large portions of her earnings to funding charitable endeavors.
