Signed by the author on upper margin of front cover. George Koltanowski (1903 – 2000) was a Belgian-American chess player and author (nickname "Kolty"). In 1960 in San Francisco, he set a world record for playing 56 consecutive games blindfolded, with only ten seconds per move. He won fifty and drew the other six. The record still holds to this day. His current book is a comprehensive study of the Max Lange Attack - a particular chess opening which can arise from several different opening lines including the Petroff's Defense, Scotch Gambit, the Two Knights Defense, Bishop's Opening, etc. Ill.: 0. 2.
