V.g. in full maroon leather (some minor marks to leather) with gilt decoration on front and rear boards and with gilt lettering and decarion between 5 raised bands on spines. Gilt decoration to inside edges of front and rear boards. Gilt to all edges of textblocks and with marbled paper to pastedowns and fly-leaves. Both books have the attractive printed bookplate of KAY-SHUTTLEWORTH, Gawthorpe Hall, together with his signature (Ughtred J. Kay-Shuttleworth) dated July lst, 1871 on both plain sides of front fly-leaves. He was the 1st Baron Shuttleworth of Gawthorpe and former Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster. Tight sound very clean copies.
