Written by a Houston-based newspaper writer (white) and based on a newspaper column that many Southerners thought was written by an African-American cook. Featured are "Mammy Lou says" quotes with Southern recipes. Recipe titles include some limited attribution to actual women. The recipes are written in paragraphs versus a listing of the ingredients. Very scarce and important cook book. ; 4to 11" - 13" tall; 307 pages. Good .
