Interior foxing to first and last pages. A promotional brochure published by the artist. A graduate of the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris, Charles Hoffbauer studied French academic procedures for painting grand-scale themes of historical importance. In preparing the Memorial Military Murals he used a full range of those techniques. He invented the scenes of his murals and then used clay and wood models and small ink and watercolor sketches. These evolved into large scale crayon and pastel drawings from which he developed his murals. Perhaps the most famous of his work is he Four Seasons of the Confederacy Murals. Including photo of the artist. The booklet includes biographical notes, awards, collections and a list of mural commissions. ; Black and white photographs; 6 x 8; 31 pages. Very Good+ .
