Description: London, 1606, First Edition. Half-Leather, 16mo - over 5¾ - 6¾" tall. Book, [16], 224 pages. Illustrated title page by William Kip, lacks all maps, lacking 1cm at the top of the spine and 3cm at the bottom, wear on edges of covers and two ink stains. Lacking pages 49 to 64. Pages 65 to 80 are numbered 66 to 81. The publishers are stated as "haerraes Ascanii de Rinialme, Francofurti" but the book was printed in London by H. Lownes. State 2: the front of the pedestal framing the imprint is diagonal. A satirical account of a voyage to Antarctica, written by Joseph Hall and published anonymously. Mundus alter et idem is the earliest Utopia set in Terra Australis. Good.
