Description: Limited First Edition; Square Small Folio; Text Volume pp. 16, illustrated frontispiece; with a Folio of wood-engravings containing four tropical wood-engravings and frontispiece, these five were engraved and edited by Tate Adams in Melbourne and at James Cook University, Townsville in 1996 each being hand signed numbered and titled by Adams, in addition the folio also contains a duplicate engraving. A fine copy in original maroon cloth clamshell case title lettered in gilt on front of case. Melbourne; Zimmer; 1997. The text volume has two short essays the first by Jenny Zimmer titled "Tate Adams: Wood Engraver, Book Designer & Teacher". The second essay is by Adams himself and titled "The Lyre Bird Speaks". Tate Adams (1922-2018) was an Australian based Artist and teacher working in Townsville, renowned for his print making. Adams' students included the late George Baldessin (regarded as one of Australia's best printmakers). Together with Baldessin, Adams established the Lyre Bird Press in 1977 which aimed to publish high calibre livres d'artistes and to promote the work of printmakers.
