Sydney; 2/19 Battalion A.I.F. Association; 1975. The 2/19 is the Australian Unit which has the unenviable record of losing more of its members than any other Army Unit raised during the 1939-45 war, 738 in all, almost a battalion in itself. The Battalion's recruits were drawn principally from Monaro and Riverina regions of Southern New South Wales, although it also included small drafts of men from Sydney and New Guinea.
