Septimus Piesse's "The Art of Perfumery". This is the second edition published in London in 1856, the same year the first edition was published. It offers a very complete discourse on the manufacture of perfumes beginning with its history, and describes the origins of its scents, formulas for its manufacture, and many of its end uses.
